Meet Your New Teacher

Hello Parents!

      My name is Asia Cotton and I will be your child's new Infant Lead Teacher. I am so excited to have the opportunity to provide care for your children. My philosophy includes supporting the whole child, which means meeting the child where they are developmentally then encouraging growth through opportunity and engagement. In my short time here at Joyful Noise, I have had the great privilege of getting to know each of your children, and I have to say they are amazing. I will continue to work with the previous lead teacher, Marti, to create some changes to the nursery room that will help support the growth of your children in all areas of development. I am very passionate about teaching and working with young children.  Here are a few things about me that you may or may not know yet:

• I have a Family and Child Development Degree from Western Michigan University. (Go Broncos!)
• I am from Muskegon, Michigan.
• I learned so much during my internship at The Children's Place Learning Center. Eventually, I took an assistant position in their toddler room before moving on to the preschool room. 
• I really love working with children!

Here is my assistant Ms. Angel

Ms. Angel has been here at Joyful Noise for 6 years! She is a joy to work with, and has been extremely helpful with my transition to lead teacher. Ms. Angel is very nurturing and caring when working with your children. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her son.

Exploring Green Fruits and Vegetables

The infants enjoyed exploring green fruits and vegetables today in Nutrition Expedition! What a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Though they may be little, there are still ways to introduce infants and young toddlers to nutritious foods, and start a foundation of healthy choices even at this stage in life. Through exploration, hands-on activities, exercise and food tasting for those that are able, Nutrition Expedition offers a curriculum that begins this journey towards good health for children of all ages!    Welcome to the start of our beautiful Grand Haven summer. Watch the Grand Haven Tribune for great family activities going on around town.
  We have been trying to get outside now that the weather is cooperating. Please bring a swimsuit or spare clothes for water play to keep in their cubbies. I have a couple extra ones available.
