November

November is here and the weather has been amazing. My vacation through the mountains was very enjoyable and the colors were beautiful. A big thanks to the Ladies for holding things together while I was away.
With cooler weather on the way be sure your little one has a hat & coat for occasional walks outside. Also, extra cubby clothes should be updated with long sleeve and pants.

Some of you have asked about how we go about starting little ones on solid food. After you have tried a new food at home and had no problems or allergy issues with it, just let us know when and how much you would like them to have.

We offer a variety of #2 food as well as oatmeal and rice cereal. Our food list includes: applesauce, pears, bananas, peaches and prune/apple, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, gr. beans, squash, as well as meats. These are usually Gerber or Meijer brand. You are always welcome to bring in your own homemade or store bought food as well.

If you have more questions about this or any other concerns, please feel free to ask.

October is here and off to a good start. I hope the rain of last week is gone and that we have cool & sunny autumn days ahead.
October also means it is School Picture time. This week Wednesday & Thursday between 8:00 and 10:30 the photographers will be here doing pictures. The nursery's scheduled day is Thursday. If your child is not here that day but they are on Wednesday we will have them taken then. If they are not here either day, please plan on being them in on either of the two days.

September is a time of fresh starts and a new school year beginning. Here in the Infant Room we are off to a good start. Freshly painted walls, clean carpets and new babies!

Water, Water Everywhere

This month's theme is "Water, Water, Everywhere." Our color focus is on Aqua Blue. We will be talking and reading about boats, fish, turtles and other aquatic creatures. While playing outside in the water, we will do some sink or float experiments.
* Swimwear for the older children has been very helpful. Thanks to all of you who sent them in. We will continue to incorporate some water play in to our days when we can. It is so enjoyable & refreshing this time of year.

The older children who will be transitioning later in August have been spending time with the toddlers and getting acquainted with the room and teachers.

Car Wash Fun

Last week we joined in on the car wash fun out in the bike pad side of the big play yard. Note this was before swimwear/extra clothes were brought in, which is why they are wearing a hodgepodge of Joyful Noise clothes. :-)

Alyvia started out unsure but soon joined the fun.

Last week we took all those awake and walked down to the Framer's Market with the Toddler class as part of Nutrition Expedition. Everyone did great and stayed cool. Four out of five fell asleep on the way back.
